Investment criteria

CDP Equity mainly operates by acquiring minority shares in companies of significant national interest, that are in financially sound and have adequate profitability and development prospects

Companies that operate in the following sectors are considered of “significant national interest” (Decree of the Minister for the Economy and Finance of 3 May 2011, repealed and replaced the Decree of the MEF of 2 July 2014):

Outside of these sectors, companies that cumulatively have a net annual turnover of €300 million or more and an average number of no less than 250 employees are considered of “significant national interest”. The size can be reduced by 20%, up to €240 million of turnover and 200 employees, in the case of companies whose activities are significant in terms of spin-offs and produce benefits for the economic and productive system at national level, even in terms of having production plants in Italy. Companies that, although not yet established in Italy, operate in the sectors referred to above and have subsidiaries or permanent establishments in Italy that cumulatively have a net annual turnover of €50 million or more and an average number of no less than 250 employees are also of significant national interest.
